God Is Good

Alive Blessed and Grateful
God Is Good

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. (Psalms 34:8-10 NKJV)

God is a good God! All the time! We must have this truth from the Word of God rooted and established deep inside our hearts and never depart from it!

Jesus said in John 10:10 “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)”. John 10:10 AMP)

This verse explains that anything that comes to steal from you, kills or destroys anything in your life is from the enemy, or the devil himself! Jesus also tells us here that having a good life, an abundant life filled up until your life overflows and enjoying life is from Him! This verse is what we need to judge everything by. If it’s good….it’s God! If it’s bad….it’s the devil!

James tells us in Chapter 1:12-13 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.

Wrong teaching has told people that God uses bad things to teach us “lessons”. This is not what the Word of God tells us. Over and over throughout the Bible we read that God is good!

The LORD is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works. Psalms 145:9

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You. Psalms 86:5

1 Chronicles 16:34 O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Psalms 106:1 Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Psalms 100:5 For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

If you have any doubts that God is good just go to the Bible and you can see it repeated over and over!

Freedom In Christ

I’m Free

Hello, Everyone! There are so many good things that God has done in me and in my life that I must begin to share it! I hope you will check back often!

The person I am today is so different from the person I was even 10 years ago and it’s all because of Jesus Christ; Jesus, in the Rhema (the revelation knowledge of Jesus through experience) and in the Logos (the revelation of Jesus through the written Word of God).

You can know Jesus in that intimate way, too! You do it by spending time with Him and by spending time in the Word of God. Nothing in my life worked until I committed to God that I was going to set aside a part of my day to fellowship with Him. Prior to that time I had always done it as a “religious task”; something I thought I had to do for God to love me and to keep my “salvation”. Little did I know that when I began to seek God from a heart that wanted Him (not performance driven) it was going to change me forever!

I was so bound up in religion! I did not understand God’s grace…..AT ALL!! I had reached that point in my life that I was truly miserable because the harder I tried to be a good Christian, the worse everything became in my life. Try as hard as I could, I was never able to reach that ideal of being “good enough for God”! What a lie of the enemy! It angers me more than I can even put into words that the erroneous teachings of men and women bound in legalistic traditions have taught people that they must do something for God to be happy with them!! What a lie that has been perpetrated out of the pulpits of this world and the devil loves it! It has kept people bound for years; some of them all of their lives!

I’m here to tell you today: God loves you! He loved you so much that Jesus came to pay the price for the sin of this world. By Jesus’ one sacrifice He has forever perfected them that are sanctifed (Hebrews 10:14). Sanctified means being made holy, set apart, freed from sin! Hallelujah!

When you came to Jesus and confessed Him as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you were saved (Romans 10:19). What happened is that Jesus had already paid the price at the cross for you to be freed from the penalty of your sin. You confessed Him as your Lord and Savior, receiving your forgiveness and cleansing through His payment, His work and in return you received Jesus Christ’ righteousness! You see, it’s not about what we do! It’s all about what Jesus done and He made you righteous. For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT). The Message Bible says it like this: “Become friends with God; He’s already a friend with you. How? you ask. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God” (2 Corinthians 5:21 MSG).

My friend, there is nothing you can ever do to earn right standing with God or to make Him love you any more than He loves you right now! He made the way through Jesus to reconcile us back to Himself and all you have to do is believe that you are the righteousness of God in Jesus. Stop trying to get God to love you! He can’t love you any more or any less than He does right now! He proved it through Jesus!

I hope you got something out of this and will come back to read more or choose to follow me. I’m going to continue to share with you all the things that God has taught me that set me free! Jesus said in John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”

Abundant Living

Eternal Life

John 3:16  For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

What does eternal life mean?

We have been taught all our life that Jesus came and died for our sins to give us eternal life so that we will not perish.  However, the truth is that everyone will live eternally.  Those who have received Jesus will live with Him eternally and those who have rejected Jesus will live eternally in hell.

Jesus came and died on Calvary for so much more that this.  He died not only to forgive your sins, but to bring you close to Him.  Jesus praying the night before His crucifixion said,  “And this is the way to have eternal life—to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth” in John 17:3.  This verse is not talking about having an intellectual knowledge (or head knowledge) of God and Jesus Christ.  The word “know” throughout the scriptures is gnosko, which in the Greek means intercourse; this means having the most, intimate personal relationship that you can have.  Having a relationship with God is everlasting life.

The truth is that Jesus did not come just to save you from your sins so that you can go to heaven someday and live in blessing instead of the punishment of hell.  He also came to deliver you from this present evil world, Galatians 1:4: Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.  Jesus paid the price for your sins, so you wouldn’t have to.  He reconciled you back into relationship with the Father.  He loves you and desires to have a close, intimate, personal relationship with you.  He provided through the finished work at Calvary for you to have a quality of life here that is greater than what you could ever get through anything in this world.  Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief (talking of Satan) comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”  That is this life, right here and right now.

II Peter 1:3-4: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

1.) Knowledge:  How well do you know God?

2.) Given us exceeding great and precious promises: the more we know God and study His Word, the more we are aware of His promises.

3.) Partakers of His nature: How? By knowing Him and His promises; by making Him our focus.

What is the result?  Life!  Ultimate peace, joy, and abundance of health, relationships, and prosperity in all things. This comes through having a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus.

If you have already accepted Jesus, you need to go beyond just having your sins forgiven and spend time developing a close, intimate relationship with Jesus and enter into that abundant life with the Father….life everlasting.

If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, ask Him to come live in your heart and receive cleansing of all your sins and everything Jesus paid for at Calvary.  Please let me know if you have made that decision.

The Word is Life

The Holy Bible is God’s written word to us, His children.  All scripture was given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.   II Timothy 3:16 NLT says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”  It is God’s handbook for our lives and when we read and meditate on God’s Word, it will change our life.

In 2003, I decided I wanted more out of my Christian life than what I had.  I had never set aside a dedicated time to read and study the Word of God, even though I really desired to.  I depended on going to church “to get a little” to keep me going.  I would move ahead one step but then slide back two steps.  I really was not living a victorious life.  Finally, I decided that I had had enough ! It was time for me to do something different.  I made a commitment to God to get out of bed early and study the Word and spend time with God.  That decision forever changed my life.

As I began to read the Bible and meditate on God’s Word, I began to grow and get revelation of the Word like I had never had before.  Hebrews 4:12 says “The Word of God is alive, powerful, and sharper that a two edged sword.”  As I meditated the living Word of God, I went from knowing about God to having a relationship with God.  He became real to me and as I put His Word into my heart, I began to hunger and thirst for more of God and more of His Word.

The Word of God became food for my soul and I needed it just as much as I needed food for my physical body.  I begin every day of my life in the Word of God and it has put a smile on my face and a bounce in my step.

I am confident that with Jesus Christ, I can do all things. I have learned who I am in Jesus Christ; the awesome price He paid and the inheritance I received through Him. I know that Jesus, who never knew sin was made to be sin for me so that I could be made the righteousness of God through Jesus. He paid the debt I couldn’t pay and He reconciled me to my Heavenly Father.

This was what I had searched for all my life! I had tried to find it through the world’s way, trying everything and nothing satisfying. The reason of that is because we were created to have fellowship with God. Adam and Eve walked with God in the Garden of Eden in the cool of the day until Satan deceived them and they ate from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and their eyes were opened. They were separated from fellowship with God and it was passed onto us through their sin. Nothing or no person will ever satisfy that emptiness in our soul! That emptiness…that hole in our soul will not be filled until we are reconciled to God and spend time fellowshipping with Him and having relationship with Him.

In Joshua 1:8 AMP, God told Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it.  For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”

Begin to study the Word of God daily and you will discover for yourself the life changing power of God’s Holy Word.

If you have never accepted Jesus as your Lord and your Savior, that is where you need to start. Just pray a simple prayer like, “Jesus, I receive You now as my Savior and I make you the Lord of my life. I receive everything you did for me at Calvary. Come into my heart and live Your life through me.”

If you prayed this prayer, please let me know so I can pray for you and stand with you. I would like to help you grow in the Love and Knowledge of Jesus Christ. You can contact me @ tcook.ilovejesus@gmail.com.
